The Recipe For Honey Waffles

Honey waffles are the typical honeycomb-shaped cakes crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside that is cooked inside a hot plate and are also known as waffles or waffles.
In this recipe, we will prepare them by adding acacia honey to the classic dough made with eggs, flour, milk, butter, yeast, vanilla and sugar.

Making waffles at home is very simple as long as you have the appropriate plate to cook them.

Difficulty: easy.
Preparation time: 10 minutes.
Cooking time: 12-15 minutes.

INGREDIENTS REQUIRED:

  • 20 grams of granulated sugar
  • 200 gr flour type 00 flour
  • 5 gr of baking powder
  • a pinch of fine salt
  • a pinch of vanilla powder or 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1 whole egg
  • 3 tablespoons of honey Mielbio acacia Rigoni di Asiago
  • 190 ml of milk
  • 70 gr of butter

PREPARATION OF HONEY WAFFLES

  1. In a bowl, combine the powders: granulated sugar, vanilla, fine salt, 00 flour and baking powder, mix and set aside.
  2. Then melt the butter, add it when it is melted and cooled; add the milk, egg and 3 tablespoons of honey.
  3. Mix everything to obtain a thick and homogeneous mixture.
  4. Take the pan or the special waffle iron, heat it and lightly grease the molds into which you are going to pour the dough – when the plate reaches the right temperature – with the help of a ladle.
  5. Close the plate and cook the waffles according to the instructions of the appliance or in any case until they are golden brown (usually it takes 2-3 minutes).
  6. Repeat this until the batter is finished.
  7. Serve the waffles hot adding more honey and fresh fruit.

TIPS FOR MAKING HONEY WAFFLES

  • If you want you can use the grated peel of 1 lemon or 1 orange to flavor the waffles.
  • To obtain softer waffles, reduce a little with the flour and on the contrary, if you want crispier waffles, reduce the milk a little.
  • You can also grease the molds of the plate with seed oil or with the release spray.
  • You can keep the waffles for 2-3 days in a tin container, but I recommend you make them and consume them immediately hot as soon as they are prepared.
  • If you are lactose intolerant you can use rice or almond milk instead of cow’s milk and vegetable margarine or cocoa butter instead of classic butter.
